Helen Hoyte

I’m Helen Hoyte, a counsellor, coach and clinical supervisor based in Torquay, specialising in ADHD, neurodiversity and women’s wellbeing, including menopause. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space to help you understand yourself, navigate life’s challenges and find ways forward that work for you.

I’m Helen Hoyte, a therapeutic counsellor, coach, clinical supervisor and counselling tutor based in Torquay, Devon. My background spans counselling, coaching, complementary health and fitness, with a longstanding interest in helping people feel more connected to themselves, their bodies and the lives they want to lead. I’m accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). My qualifications include a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a Level 6 Advanced Specialist Diploma in Clinical Supervision, professional coaching training and specialist ADHD training for coaches. I also hold teaching qualifications and teach on foundation and diploma counselling courses at Devon Counselling College. I have a particular passion for supporting adults with ADHD, autism and the overlap between the two. My work includes exploring overwhelm, masking, shame, relationships and the experience of spending years trying to meet expectations that don’t fit. I’m also interested in women’s health and the ways hormonal changes and menopause can affect wellbeing, identity and neurodivergent experiences. My approach is person-centred, integrative and neurodiversity-affirming. This means your experiences, needs and preferences guide our work, and we explore what helps you rather than expecting you to fit a particular way of doing therapy. Alongside talking and reflection, I may draw on practical coaching tools, self-compassion, mindfulness and body awareness. My background in complementary health and fitness brings an appreciation of how closely our emotional and physical experiences are connected. Alongside individual and couples work, I offer clinical supervision and develop ADHD workshops for counsellors. I enjoy making complex ideas understandable and useful, helping both clients and practitioners approach neurodivergence with greater curiosity, empathy and confidence. With me, you can expect warmth, honesty, practical support and gentle challenge. There is no expectation to arrive with the right words or a clear plan. We can make space for difficult feelings, understand patterns and explore change at your pace—whether that means building boundaries, finding ways to manage everyday demands, or reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been overlooked.
