Bio – Janis Sinclair I’m 67, married for 49 years, and a mum to two grown‑up children. My own counselling journey started long before I ever trained as a therapist; it came from a real need to understand myself, my relationships, and the patterns that shaped my life. That personal work changed me, and it’s a big part of why I do what I do today. I qualified as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in 2011 at the University of Stirling and became a Counselling Supervisor in 2013. Over the years, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, and I’ve learned that being a therapist isn’t just about training or techniques; it’s about being human. My lived experience of long‑term relationships, family life, growth, and challenge sits right alongside my professional expertise, and together they help me meet clients with warmth, empathy, and honesty. My approach is person‑centred at its core, which means your needs and goals shape the work we do. I draw from a range of modalities: CBT, systemic practice, solutions‑focused therapy, coaching, ADHD coaching, and children’s specialisation, so sessions can be tailored to what feels most helpful for you. When we work together, we explore how your past influences your present, gently noticing patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back. It’s a collaborative process, a bit like the cogs of a clock working together, each insight helping the next, creating balance and momentum. My aim is to help you let go of limitations, open new possibilities, and move toward a more grounded, authentic way of living.
