Grief Support Services
Has loss or trauma left you struggling to navigate complex feelings and the ways they can affect all aspects of your life? Grief Support Services offers specialist, integrative psychotherapy to help you process the emotional, relational and spiritual impact of loss, adapt to your changed life and find meaningful ways to continue your bond with the person who has died.
I am a psychotherapist with advanced training in complex grief, anxiety and trauma, and 25 years’ multidisciplinary experience across counselling and psychotherapy, bereavement and end-of-life care as a healthcare chaplain, life coaching and group discussion facilitation. I have worked across NHS, hospice, mental health and community settings.
I work with adults and families, supporting people through bereavement, traumatic or untimely death, health-related loss, relationship loss, family rupture and other significant life transitions, such as job loss or career change.
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed and systemic. Rather than looking at loss or trauma in isolation, we consider how your experience may be affected by your relationships, family history, culture, identity, physical health, spirituality or beliefs, and the particular circumstances surrounding what has happened. I use curiosity and thoughtful questions to help you make sense of your experience and understand thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
Sessions are tailored to you and may combine psychotherapy with grief education, practical strategies, creative approaches and, where wanted, exploration of spiritual or existential questions. I welcome people of all faiths and none, including those experiencing spiritual crisis or questioning previously held beliefs.
You can expect a compassionate and non-judgemental space where the full range of your emotions can be expressed openly. Our work may include finding ways to manage the impact of loss in your everyday life, rebuilding confidence and connection, adapting to a changed life, and finding meaningful ways to continue your bond with the person who has died.
